One-to-one work for founders and investors
Flow that doesn’t grip you
Embodied meditation and somatic coaching for people who work at full intensity and want to stay open, clear and in their body while they do it.
Two kinds of absorption
Most founders know flow. Many also know its shadow.
There is the absorption where time disappears, decisions come easily and the work almost does itself. And there is another kind that looks similar from the outside: attention narrowed to a tunnel, jaw set, breath held, still pushing at midnight because something feels like it depends on it.
Both are intense. Only one leaves you more alive afterwards. The difference is rarely in the mind alone. It shows up first in the body, in how tightly we hold on, and in what is quietly driving the effort.
The Mind–Heart–Body method
Keeping all of you online
A lot of leadership work treats performance as a question of thinking differently. I work with the whole person: the state your body and mind are in, the steadiness of your attention, the clarity of your sensing, and your connection to what matters. Each draws on a core skill of Vipassanā, translated for the realities of building and investing.
-
Body-mind state
Regulation · upekkhā, equanimityA relaxed and energised, easeful and awake aliveness, felt in body and mind. Informed by nervous system regulation and by equanimity: when you do get knocked off balance, you can meet that without fighting it, which is often what lets the system settle again.
-
Stability
Samādhi · unification of mindAttention and awareness centred in the present: in your body, your context and the people around you. Deeper flow arises naturally when the mind is no longer scattered.
-
Clarity and Feingefühl
Sati · mindful awarenessAwareness of subtle shifts within yourself, in the room, in others and in the wider context, including emotions and their subtle energy.
-
Intentionality
Heart centreBeing connected to what truly matters to you. From there, you can also be more connected to the people you work and live with.
Grounded, not hyped
What we know, and what we explore
Research on flow points in a consistent direction. In flow, the brain’s task networks become more active while the self-referential chatter of the default mode network quietens. Arousal sits in a moderate band rather than at a peak. And people who are more mindful tend to experience flow more often.
That is a good foundation, and I try to stay honest about where the science ends. Much of this work is experiential: you test it in your own body and your own week, and keep what makes a difference.
I don’t promise neurochemical hacks or peak states on demand. I offer careful training in attention, embodiment and insight, drawn from serious meditation practice, somatics and movement, and translated for the realities of building and investing.
About
Reimar Wen Shen
I worked in investment strategy at Vanguard before meditation became my life’s work. For more than ten years I have practised Vipassanā, including four months of monastic training in northern Thailand, and I have taught since 2021 through Vipassana at Home.
Alongside that runs a long practice of moving under pressure: five years of contact improvisation, freediving to 30 metres, a taekwondo black belt, climbing and trail running. I’m also a father, which has taught me as much about staying open under load as anything else.
Start with a conversation
A discovery call is a free, unhurried conversation about where you are, what you want from your work and whether this approach fits. There is no pressure to continue.
